This module is used for regular review of an employee's job performance and overall contribution to a company . An MBO appraisal evaluates an employee's skills, achievements and growth.

SECTION A (APPRAISAL MANAGEMENT)
This section is for HR staff who will be managing the appraisal processes from start to finish.
Under this section is where the admin/ HR officer sets the appraisals that will be conducted. There options under this section

Ratings
This section is used when an employee or manager is adding/ selecting a score against a question. A rating can be a percentage, a number, a text field (not considered for scoring), or a range of possible outcomes/values. This required ratings to be filled in are a name ,code type,value range are set for this section.
The admin requires the rating type from the drop-down .There rating types include
Users will select from the range of possible outcomes
Users will specify expected and actual outcomes as numerical values
Users will specify actual outcomes as a percentage
Users will qualitatively assess outcomes
After selecting the options the user will click save and the rating will be saved.The user is able to update the rating in case they want to make a change.
Evaluation forms
This is where the HR /admin is able to set the assessment questions which the employees will answer .The questions can be set in different appraisal periods which can be annual, bi annual, quarterly and end of probation as illustrated below.
The HR will click on add new to add a question.
The questionnaire is illustrated below with all the options to set up the assessment questions to be answered by the employees.
After the assessment questions have been set up and saved, they will appear as illustrated below. The HR/ user can view them in the different periods that they have set.
Schedule an Appraisal
A schedule is an event set up in the system that requires an appraisal to be carried out . When an organization is ready to start appraisals , they set up a schedule (s) of when these events will be carried out and which employees will be appraised .

Initialization
The first step is where initial parameters required for setting an appraisal are configured as illustrated below
The HR /admin will select the required fields in the fields that are illustrated .
Appraisal Period: The admin will select the period in which the appraisal takes place for example the year.
Title: This is where the title of the appraisal to be set is filled by the HR/ admin
Appraisal mode: This drop-down is set for the periods section of the appraisal settings.
Appraisal status: This is where the admin /HR selects if the appraisal is open or closed.
Employee Appraisal period: This is where the duration for the employee appraisal is set. The start and end date are selected .Please note that once the period expires the employee is not able to do the appraisal unless it is opened by the administrator .
Line manager review period: This section is used to set the duration in which line managers are able to review the appraisals that they supervise. After the period ends they are unable to review unless the period is extended by the administrator.
After all the required information has been set up, it can be saved and one moves to the next step.
Select Appraisal staff This section is used to select the employees that are to take part in the appraisal or those to be evaluated in the appraisal that is initiated .The admin /HR can select using the filter to choose the department or positions that they would like to evaluate as illustrated below.
After the required employees have been chosen, the administrator can save and continue to the next step .
Evaluation and parameters
The evaluation forms and parameters are set from this section .Note that once the admin selects a survey questionnaire from the drop-down as illustrated, a list of questions from this section has been generated .Select the option that applies to the appraisal period .
The administrator /HR also has the option to choose who can rate the appraisals by ticking against the options provided. After all this has been selected they can save and move to the next stage . Appraisal settings
The score grading is set from this section as shown below .The different columns are filled with the required information on the grade, description, minimum score and maximum score. The admin selects the required final score evaluation as shown below.
Once the right information is selected, the user can publish the appraisal for the employees to start .
This is the final section of the appraisal settings showing all the information entered under the different steps as illustrated below,
Some of the icons to note include;
View appraisal details: the admin clicks on this icon and is able to view / edit the scheduled appraisal process.
Initialize and publish the appraisal. The admin is able to publish after clicking this icon.
Icon is used by the administrator to be able to unpublish the appraisal in case there is an error or they want to change.
Approvals in Appraisals
The system allows up to 3 levels of approval stages. Once the employee completes they are able to submit to their line managers.
Performance Reports
This section is used to view all the appraisal reports on the system. The admin /HR officer is able to filter out the options in the drop-down that he would like to see in the report. The subsections on these reports include
Progress summary Report
This report gives you a summary of the appraisals that have been done by the employees.The HR /admin will select the information they would like to see in the drop-down to generate the report as illustrated below.
Progress details
This report shows full details of the appraisal or evaluations that have been done by the employees. The user will select from the down on what they would like to view and a report will be generated.
Performance trend
This report is to assess the overall performance of the employees. The user will select in the provided drop-downs on the information they would like to see. The performance trend will give detailed information on all the performance reports that the admin /HR would like to see. They will choose the period, the rating, the department, position and employee as illustrated below.
KPI Evaluation
This section is used to see a summary of the KPIs and performance remarks that have been submitted by the line managers.
Section Evaluation
This section is for seeing summaries of the different performance schedules that have been done by the employees as illustrated below.
SECTION TWO (SELF AND TEAM APPRAISAL)
This section is used by all employees to do their self evaluations that have been set up by the system administrators. An employee will be able to find their appraisal on the dashboard or when they go to the appraisal module.
Self Appraisal
To access the self appraisal the employee will go to modules> MBO Appraisal> self Appraisal. The employee can also find the appraisal on the dashboard in case it has been scheduled .
Once they click on self appraisal , an interface will show the appraisal that they are to do. They will be able to start doing the appraisal and answer all the required questions on the appraisal as illustrated below.
Once the employee is done filling in all the required information, they will submit it to the L1 reviewer for rating. Once the last line manager approves the appraisal, the employee will be able to see it and the scores they have achieved as illustrated below.
My Team Appraisal
This section is used by the line managers /admins to assess performance submitted by the employees in the sub categories provided .The sub categories in this section include
